CALL FOR PAPERS

PRESENTATION FORMATS | PROPOSAL FORMAT | SELECTION CRITERIA | PROPOSAL SUBMISSION

Acquiring knowledge involves more than just processing information; it also requires an active participation from learners. In distance education, information technologies must be developed in an educational, affective, cognitive, social, political and technological context. This will provide a complete learning environment in which all aspects of the learner's personality can be developed.

As an educator, student, researcher, or participant in a distance education initiative, you are invited to submit a proposal for the 2000 CADE Conference. Your presentation should focus on one of the following themes:

  1. The learner: the person vs technology
1.1   Emotional intelligence, motivations, interests, needs
    1.2   Learner's own development initiative
1.3   Learner's skills, difficulties, and special situations
    1.4   Learning styles and pace
  2. The learner: training vs technology
2.1   Concept, interaction with peers and trainers, evaluation
2.2   Team work, and producing knowledge collectively
    2.3   Learner/machine educational interface
2.4   Training programs that meet the learner's needs
  3. The learner: environment vs technology
3.1   Political orientation and decisions, choice of investments in educational institutions and private firms, cultural context
3.2   Availability and accessibility of technologies
3.3   Interaction rules initiated by the learner, the trainer, the consultant
    3.4   Partnerships
