The Planning and Institutional Studies Office reports to the Executive Vice Rector and is a key part of the planning process at the University. As such:

  • It helps design and fine-tune plans and develop the necessary policy instruments for their deployment and operationalization.
  • It takes part in institutional research by conducting the studies needed in University planning and management, maintaining an inventory of the institutional studies conducted internally, and advising University management regarding further studies various producers of institutional research need to conduct.
  • It works with the Secretary General to make sure the University does not work at cross-purposes with itself; makes recommendations to University management regarding action plans conducive to sound policy and regulatory management, harmonization, take-up, and compliance; and discharges duties assigned to it in such plans.
  • It conducts ad hoc studies and other research, analysis, consulting, coordination, support, oversight, assessment, or management tasks assigned by the Executive Vice Rector.

Another important responsibility of the Planning and Institutional Studies Office is that of updating the benchmark indicators (PDF, French only) used in tracking the University’s progress in all areas.

It also maintains set of dashboards to provide essential information for University managers (restricted access).
