Promoting health

At the Faculty of Nursing, students acquire the knowledge, abilities, and attitudes they need to provide care to individuals and families experiencing health problems.

Faculty programs emphasize all aspects of health: physical, mental, social, and environmental. This approach enables students to adapt their caregiving to the different clienteles they advise and treat. Other components include quality of care and service, ethics, leadership, and research. In addition to the regular curriculum, the Faculty has developed an undergraduate and graduate community health program, as well as a number of continuing education activities. Community institutions and hospitals greatly appreciate Laval students’ skills and their ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team.

With an international outlook, the Faculty strongly encourages its students to take advantage of foreign study and cultural immersion opportunities during their program. Thanks to the ties it has forged with institutions in a number of countries, students can opt for the international profile or an international and intercultural internship.
