Scholarships and Research Grants


Sentinel North Ph.D. scholarships and postdoctoral fellowships aim to encourage top applicants to undertake or pursue research activities within Sentinel North's research program in a transdisciplinary environment.

Outstanding candidates who have excellent academic records and research proposals with innovative, multidisciplinary potential are invited to apply.

Who they are for

There are various eligible fields of research. However, applicants must be supervised by a multidisciplinary team (supervisor and co-supervisor from different disciplines) and by at least one faculty member who is a lead researcher or collaborator on a project funded by Sentinel North.

Amount of the scholarships

Ph.D. scholarships

$18,000 per year, renewable up to 2 times. Scholarships must be supplemented to a minimum of$21,000 per year from other sources.

Postdoctoral fellowships

$35,000 per year, renewable once, paid in the form of a salary. The fellowships must be completed by the supervisor or by other sources..

Call for applications

A call for applications is issued twice a year by means of a competition. The number of fellowships offered varies from competition to competition.
