Arriving at the Québec City and Montréal airports

As soon as you land in Québec, you have access to various welcoming services at airports to facilitate your arrival. Take advantage of the service Accueil Plus and the welcome kiosk offered at the Montréal-Trudeau airport or board a free shuttle to Université Laval from Québec City Airport.

Québec City

From August 23th to August 31st 2018, a free shuttle service is offered at Québec City’s Jean-Lesage International Airport. The shuttle will transport you directly on campus. View the schedule on our Website.

We strongly recommend flying into Québec City rather than Montréal—you’ll cut your travel time and save the cost of land transportation between the two cities. For more information on the Québec City airport and airlines that serve it, click here.

Montréal

If you are flying into Montréal’s Pierre Elliott Trudeau Airport , you can reduce waiting time at Canadian immigration services by preregistering your travel information and study permit number with Accueil Plus, a service for international students.

Registration for Accueil Plus is mandatory to benefit from the service and can be done online from June 2018 onward. Conditions of admission may apply.

You are also invited to go to the international students kiosk. Agents will be happy to answer your questions and guide you.

If you choose to end your flight in Montréal, please note that the bus ride from this airport to Québec city costs around 75$ and takes 4 hours. To get helpful information on travelling toward Québec City by bus or train go to the Bureau de la vie étudiante's Website.

Getting your study permit

To obtain an official study permit, you must go to immigration services in the customs area of the first canadian airport you land into, whether it is your final destination or a stop over, and present your letter of introduction from Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada.

Waiting time at immigration can be anywhere between 1 to 3 hours. You can reduce considerably this time by registering to Accueil Plus in Montréal or landing directly in Québec City. As it is a smaller airport, waiting time is shorter.
