Orientation Activities for international students
The Bureau de la vie étudiante (BVE) has many activities to welcome international students and help them fit into campus life, including a buddy program, Québec City orientation tour, guided campus tours, conferences, day trips, and more. Here’s an overview:
From January 6th to 17th, space will be set aside at the Alphonse-Desjardins building to welcome international students. You’ll find multilingual personnel ready to answer all your questions, computers with Internet access, tools you need to find housing in Québec City, and much more. Stop by the Orientation Lounge to sign up for BVE activities, attend one of our many conferences, or to take a guided tour of the campus.
The Orientation Lounge will be open 7 days a week.
Consult the opening hours on our website.
It’s located in Room 2470 of Pavillon Alphonse-Desjardins, as shown on the interactive campus map.
Guided tours of campus
Guided tours of campus are offered in English on Thursday January 9th 2 p.m. and Sunday January 12th 2 p.m.
Departure at the orientation lounge.
No registration required.
Note that guided tours of the campus are offered in french every day from January 6th to 12th.
Consult the complete schedule of the guided tours on our Website.
Buddy program for international students
International students who sign up for the Buddy program are paired with UL “buddies” who offer several hours of their time each week to help new arrivals get settled in Québec City and familiarize themselves with the city and campus. You can sign up online today or at the Orientation Lounge.
The BVE offers a vast array of activities for new students throughout the year. These friendly, informal activities are designed specifically to introduce you to the city and outlying area, as well as Québec’s culture and history.
You can sign up for these activities several weeks before they take place. To see the schedule, visit the Discover Québec Activity page.
