GSF-6037 Corporate finance

The goals of this course are to provide sufficient knowledge to understand financial markets to interact efficiently with finance decision makers, and to understand the foundations of sound corporate financial management in the private sector. Students will learn about a theoretical framework allowing them to understand the practical implications, as well as the limits of theory. They will evaluate the economic and financial profitability of a strategy, the intrinsic value of the firm, as well as its cost of capital. Students will implement risk management strategies and evaluate their efficiency. They will also learn to use financial analysis tools.

This course is the English version of GSF-6008 - Finance corporative. Only one of those two courses will be accepted. Students who have previously taken the undergraduate course GSF-1000 Finance, or the equivalent, cannot register for this course.This course is not accessible to students in Master's programs with essay or essay-internship. This course is offered in in-person delivery mode where classes are offered in the physical presence of the student and teacher, according to a pre-determined schedule. On-campus presence is required. Classes are not recorded. Proctored exams take place on campus only. Exams may take place at times other than the scheduled classroom time, including evenings and weekends.
