A comprehensive approach to enhance interdisciplinarity and impact
The Office of the Vice Rector, Academic and Student Affairs and the Office of the Vice Rector, Research and Innovation have joined forces to advance interdisciplinarity in studies and research at Université Laval, through a structured, integrated, and coordinated approach.
Unit for Interdisciplinarity and Impact
Working in collaboration with various experts and departments across the campus, the objective of the Unit is to implement priority actions aimed at strengthening the interdisciplinarity and impact of our initiatives.
- Support teams and units with the development and implementation of interdisciplinary educational programs and research opportunities.
- Promote the development of a collaborative network and an institutional culture centered on interdisciplinarity.
- Strengthen the University’s capacity to leverage the results and knowledge generated by interdisciplinary training and research in order to maximize impact.
- Establish frameworks for evaluating interdisciplinarity and impact.
- Enhance the University’s visibility and reputation on the national and international stage in the area of interdisciplinarity.

Committee for the prioritization and action on interdisciplinarity and impact
The committee’s mandate is to define the strategic direction and priority activities for advancing interdisciplinarity at Université Laval, within a structured and integrated framework.
It prioritizes, approves, and oversees activities to ensure they align with the strategic direction, optimize resource use, increase the visibility of interdisciplinary initiatives, and engage internal and external stakeholders.
The committee’s current composition is a first step. Additional members will be added, to strengthen the diversity of perspectives needed to fulfill the committee’s established mandate.
