There are a number of ways you can reach Université Laval’s campus from the Québec City and Montréal airports.

Québec City Jean-Lesage International Airport (YQB)

After you land at the Québec City airport, you can either take a taxi or public transit to get to the university.

Bus

You can take Réseau de transport de la Capitale (RTC) routes 76 or 80 from the airport. Buses run from 5:30 AM to 11:00 PM. Ask the driver to show you where to get off to transfer to an 804 or 805 bus (toward Sainte-Foy Centre). These buses run frequently throughout the day and will take you to Université Laval.

Option 1: Buy tickets from a ticket machine.

The closest 24/7 ticket machine is right at the airport, near departure door C.

Accepted payment methods

  • Credit cards: Contactless Visa (payWave) and MasterCard (PayPass) cards
  • Interac Flash: Contactless technology only
  • Mobile devices: Common apps such as Apple Pay, Google Pay, and Samsung Pay are accepted

Option 2: Buy tickets in the “Store” section of the RTC Nomade paiement app (available on iOS and Android). Only credit cards are accepted for payment. Ticket prices are listed in the app.

Note that you need an Internet connection (WiFi or cellular data) on your phone to use the app.

Option 3: Pay the driver when you board the bus. You must have the exact amount. You can find the current fares on the RTC website .

Other modes of transportation

Visit the Taxi and Car rental pages of the YQB website to find contact information for other modes of transportation.

Montréal-Trudeau International Airport (YUL)

Getting from Montréal to Québec City

After you land at Montréal-Trudeau International Airport (YUL), you can take the bus or train to Université Laval. Bus and train companies have two stations in Québec City:

  • The Québec City station is close to downtown
  • The Sainte-Foy station is close to Université Laval

If you want to head directly to Université Laval or the surrounding area, you should select the Sainte-Foy station (Gare de Sainte-Foy).

Orléans Express buses run twice daily to Québec City and Sainte-Foy, leaving from the international arrivals terminal at YUL. You can buy your ticket online.

If the Orléans Express departures from the airport do not work with your arrival times, you can also catch them from the terminal in downtown Montréal. From the airport, just take the 747 Express city bus to the terminal. There are eight stops, including one at the Gare d’autocars de Montréal (the Montréal bus terminal) and another at the corner of René-Lévesque and Mansfield, near Montréal Central Station (VIA Rail Canada).

From the Montréal bus terminal, you can take an Orléans Express bus to Québec City and Sainte-Foy. There are multiple departures every day between 7 AM and 8 PM.

Via Rail Canada also offers daily trains from Central Station to Québec City and Sainte-Foy.

If you are leaving from the Sainte-Foy bus terminal, you can either take a taxi or the Metrobus 805 (toward Terminus Parc-Victoria) to get to campus. You can purchase bus tickets at the small shop in the terminal or on the RTC Nomade paiement app. The trip should take 10 minutes.

If you are leaving from the Sainte-Foy train station, you can take a taxi to get to campus.
