Distribution and Production Management
Description
This course deals with distribution problems, particularly the combinatorial optimization problems arising in logistics. It covers strategic, tactical, and operational planning in distribution management systems. More specifically, it covers optimization methods for distribution problems such as shortest paths, traveling salesman, vehicle routing, combined inventory control and routing problems, and problems with production. Other problems arise in facility location, urban logistics, and people transportation. The course is aimed at students interested in solving these problems via optimization; students should understand optimization and mathematical modeling, including computing implementation.
