If you have a strong interest in pharmaceutical research and you want to work in this area, this program is for you.

Admission Requirements

Applicants must have a master’s degree in pharmaceutical sciences, in a relevant field or an equivalent degree.

Applicants who hold a master’s degree in a related field may be eligible.

Applicants with a master in a relevant field such as biology, biochemistry, chemistry, microbiology, epidemiology, kinesiology, medicine, experimental medicine, pharmacology, psychology, nursing, sociology
etc.) may be eligible.

Applicants must have a grade point average of at least 3.00 out of 4.33 or the equivalent.

Applicants with grade point averages between 2.67 and 2.99 out of 4.33 may also apply. However, admission is not automatic. After analyzing the applicant’s academic and professional record, the program director may accept or reject the application. Conditions for continuing in the program may apply.

French proficiency

The language of instruction at Université Laval is French. Hence, a good knowledge of written and spoken French is highly recommended.

Students must ensure that they have a good understanding of French and, if necessary, take steps to improve their language skills during their studies (for example at Université Laval's School of Languages).

English proficiency

Students must ensure that they have a good understanding of English and, if necessary, take steps to improve their language skills during their studies (for example at Université Laval's School of Languages).

Applicants with grade point averages between 2.67 and 2.99 out of 433 may also apply. However, admission is not automatic. After analyzing the applicant’s academic and professional record, the program director may accept or reject the application. Conditions for continuing in the program may apply.

Although French and English proficiency is not an official condition for admission, students must be able to read and understand texts in French and English to successfully complete the program.

At admission, the program director may require additional proof if he or she is unable to assess the applicant’s level of French or English proficiency using the documents submitted with the initial application.

If there are significant deficiencies, the program director may require the student to successfully complete one or more language courses within a reasonable time. The students must pass these courses to continue in the program. This measure is aimed at encouraging recruitment and mobility while ensuring that graduate students have the necessary resources to be effective and successful in the program.

Language courses do not count toward program credits.
