Transition to online courses and further information

As you know, Canadian governments and institutions are grappling with the spread and impact of the COVID-19 epidemic. The situation continues to evolve and is unprecedented for universities. Against this backdrop, we are working hard to ensure that you are able to complete the Winter 2020 session.

Transition to online courses

March 13th, we announced the suspension of all face-to-face classes for the next two weeks and the continuation of administrative activities.
March 14th, we are announcing the transition of as many face-to-face courses as possible to online courses gradually over the next two weeks for the remainder of the session. Students will receive a communication when these courses are available online.
Information about the exams that were scheduled to take place in the classroom will also be communicated by the faculties in the coming days.
For face-to-face courses that cannot be delivered online, we will publish additional information through the faculties.
We are working as quickly as possible to inform faculty and all teaching and administrative staff in preparation for the transition to online courses. We understand that this change in delivery method will have a significant impact on our community and that you have many questions about it. We ask for your patience as we work to answer these questions.

Courses already online

For all those who are already taking online courses, the courses will continue from Monday 16 March, as usual. You will receive a communication to this effect from your teachers.

Access to the research laboratories

Graduate students may have access to the research laboratories if this is essential to the continuity of their research work.

Internships

Students currently in an off-campus practicum may continue their practicum as directed by the host environment. Students must comply with the requirements of the host environment.

Gatherings

Students are reminded that the government's decision to suspend face-to-face educational activities is intended to reduce the spread of COVID-19. In this context, we recommend that students avoid team meetings and non-essential gatherings on campus. We recommend that they use online work tools.

Administrative Services

The administrative services of Université Laval are maintained. However, they will be operating at a slower pace due to a reduced staff complement. The units will communicate changes in schedules and services offered, as required.

Library and PEPS

The following services are suspended until March 29.

  • All sports activities at PEPS are suspended, administrative services are maintained. For more information, we invite you to visit the Sports Activities Service website.
  • The Library will only be accessible online. Accommodations will be offered for specific document lending needs. Please consult the Library's website for more information.
