University agility recognized

In a letter addressed to all universities and colleges, the Minister of Education and Higher Education Jean-François Roberge acknowledged the "exceptional work" being done there at this time. Mr. Roberge applauds the "great agility" that our teams are demonstrating in order to allow distance education courses to continue and to revise the grading systems to take into account everyone's realities. Congratulations to all of you, because these congratulations are yours!

International students may also be eligible for the benefit if they meet certain criteria. You can apply as of April 6, 2020. More details are available on the Government of Canada website

A virtual gala for our student-athletes

The excellence and the thirst for excellence of the student-athletes of the Rouge et Or will be highlighted in a virtual way this year. Beginning Thursday, April 2, nominations for the 69th Rouge et Or Gala presented by RBC will be announced through Rouge et Or social media (Facebook, Twitter and Instagram). This will culminate with the presentation of the virtual Gala on Saturday, April 11 at 7 p.m. on the Rouge et Or Facebook page. Another Rouge et Or virtual initiative that has been very successful on social networks is the Rouge et Or 2019-2020 Favourite Event Contest, in which 60,000 people participated. Congratulations to swimmer Ambroise Petit, national 200-metre butterfly champion, who was crowned the grand winner.

Sleep, that precious ally

One very effective way to combat stress and anxiety during this time of pandemic is to adopt good sleep habits. Professor Charles Morin, Canada Research Chair in Behavioural Sleep Medicine, is working with a panel of experts to raise awareness of this issue. Having a regular schedule, exposure to daylight and avoiding consulting our electronic devices in bed can make sleep a valuable ally. More suggestions at www.sleeponitcanada.ca

The importance of being comfortable, even at home

We remind you that it is very important to be properly installed when working or studying at home to avoid back pain or other injuries. Taking breaks, stretching or making small adjustments to your workplace with things you already own can make all the difference. You will find more tips for temporary telework in this kit made by Entrac.
