Neurobiology (PhD)
Admission Requirements
A Master’s degree (or equivalent as recognized by Université Laval)in Neurobiology, Biochemistry or a subject closely related to selected graduate work.
High Academic Achievement: The minimum Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) is 2.67 out of a possible 4.33.
Proficiency in French/English: Proficiency in either French or English is required.
Courses are offered in French, however:
- they may be taken in the 2nd year
- course exams are available in English
- 2 PhD courses may be taken as a guided reading class
Other requirements: Please note that students cannot enter the PhD program until the MSc degree has been awarded, or all requirements completed.

To be chosen from:
- Neuroscience 3 NRB-8010
- Neuroscience 1 NRB-7007
- Or any other course at Université Laval related to the PhD project
Doctoral Exam (1 credit) NRB-8000

- Written PhD proposal and/or oral presentation
- By the fifth session following the registration (can be re-taken once if unsuccessful)

Financial Support - Doctoral Funding
$1550 /semester based on 15 credits for the payment of tuition fees
Expertise in neural stem cells, adult neurogenesis, olfaction, neuronal migration and maturation, in vivo imaging.
