Leadership and commitment scholarships

Through the leadership and commitment scholarships, Université Laval aims to support talented students who demonstrate exceptional commitment to one of the following six areas during their university studies: the arts, entrepreneurship, the environment, science, social and humanitarian causes, and athletics.

Applications for the 2027 admission scholarships will open in November 2026.

This scholarship program is open to students who have submitted a new application for admission to a research-based master’s or doctoral program for the winter, summer, or fall 2027 semesters.

Value

  • Master’s degree: $10,000 ($2,500 per semester)
  • Doctorate: $30,000 ($5,000 per semester)
     

These scholarships do not cover all the costs associated with studying in Québec City for one year (which include tuition fees and living expenses). Visit the Fees and Budgeting page for more information.

Eligible applicants and programs

  • Canadian citizens
  • Permanent residents
  • Master’s: All master’s degree with thesis programs
  • Doctorate: All doctorate programs

How to apply

Applications for the 2027 admission scholarships will open in November 2026.

Results

Recipients are usually announced in late April. If you are awarded a scholarship, you will need to have officially received a conditional or definitive offer of admission from Université Laval by that point. Scholarships will not be given to applicants on the waiting list.
