Tuition fees
The tuition you pay is based on your profile and the number of credits you register for in a semester.
The amount you pay each semester includes basic tuition as well as ancillary fees for Université Laval services, academic support, and student associations, among others. For full details, see the detailed tuition and fee breakdown.

Canadian students (non-Québec residents)
As a Canadian student outside of Québec, your tuition fees will be comparable to those in your home province.
You may also qualify for a supplemental tuition fee exemption scholarship if you are enrolled in a doctoral program or a French-language program of study that is only offered in Québec. This would allow you to pay the same tuition fees as Québec students.

French citizens and French Belgium citizens
Since Québec has signed agreements with France and the Francophone Community of Belgium, you may qualify for a lower tuition fee if you are a French or Francophone Belgian citizen. See the eligibility requirements and exclusions:
France and the Francophone Community of Belgium have signed agreements with the Government of Québec. If you are covered by one of these agreements and enrolled in an undergraduate degree or diploma program, you will pay the same tuition fees as Canadian students from outside Québec.

International students
Tuition for international students at Université Laval consists of both standard tuition fees and additional fees for international students, as required by the Ministry of Higher Education. However, certain exemption programs and scholarships may allow you to pay the same tuition fees as students from Québec or elsewhere in Canada.

Distance learning
Tuition for distance learning programs depends on your profile and the number of credits you are registered for that semester.
French classes in French immersion programs
If you are an international student or a student from Canada (outside Québec), you are exempt from tuition fees for French courses taken in a French immersion program as part of a program of study for a bachelor’s degree. Those courses will be charged at the Québec rate. See the list of exempt courses.
This exemption does not apply to courses or prerequisites within a program of study.
