Costs and Financial Aid
As an exchange student, you will continue to pay tuition to your home institution, where you will remain enrolled for the duration of your stay at Université Laval.
You will also need to budget for expenses you may incur while in Québec, such as transportation, room and board, books, health and hospitalization insurance, personal expenditures, civil liability insurance, and so on.
If you want to attend our university to learn or to improve French in the program FLE (French as a Foreign language) you will also need a budget for course extra fees. For 2018-2019 these fees are 96.18 dollars for a 3 credit course. If you have 12 credits of FLE these fees are about 385 CAD. Please take note that for a 5 week intensive French course these fees are 340 CAD. (Prices are subject to change without notice.)
Ask your school’s office of international studies whether you qualify for financial aid. Université Laval does not offer monetary assistance to visiting exchange students.
For information about possible working during your studies, visit the website of Québec’s Ministère de l’Immigration et des Communautés culturelles.
